Students will be assessed in art in a variety of ways, appropriate to their age/grade and development.  While work is in progress, informal assessments will allow for an understanding of student comprehension and allow for reteaching if necessary. At the completion of large projects, formal assessments will evaluate how well students met the intended learning goals for each unit, and students may be asked to reflect on what they learned. Class may discuss/critique student work as a group to improve vocabulary and analytical skills. Rubrics will also be used to assess the meeting of benchmark goals.
